What is your favorite metroidvania game?

I love Hollow Knight. It is a beautiful and difficult game with a wonderful soundtrack.

Hollow Knight is teh awesoem. Super Metroid is by far my top favorite, but I'd put Hollow Knight alongside my second favorites of AM2R & Symphony of the Night

I haven't played many newer ones besides that ^^;

I have played an embarrassingly low amount of metroidvanias (;´ー`). Like, I've never even tried Metroid or Castlevania ┐(ﾟ～ﾟ)┌. I think I should try 'em one of these days...

Recently I played Pseudoregalia. It's like a 3D platformer with a Metroid-esque map and progression. The movement is phenomenal. I recommend it. I think an update is coming soon but I'm not sure

have you guys ever played Snailiad? it's a simple flash game in which you play as a snail and can crawl on walls and stuff. takes a lot of inspiration from Metroid. I played it all the time as a kid, and even now it still holds up as a good metroidvania with nice music and atmosphere

Haven't played very many but I loved Dark Souls and Super Metroid. I didn't really like Symphony of the Night that much.

I've played through a bit of Rabi-Ribi and thought it was nice, but I still need finish it.

There's many similarities since Soulslikes and Metroidvanias both fall under the broader genre of action-adventure, but there's also a lot of things that distinguish them from each other
