Being unique doesn't always equal being good or better.
It's not awful but i don't like some things, the image and post being separate looks weird. It would look better if replies were also next to the image instead of every reply being under the image.
Profile pics are cool maybe? Cool name.

and it probably should emit
<meta charset="utf-8">

(which works even in HTML4, since that's the doctype you have set)

no one is using Latin-1 as their character encoding at this point (at least, not on purpose)
