Even if there is a really interesting or niche subject supporting it, there's no confirming that it will be a success (;-_-) which is the sad truth with new imageboards. Not to discourage OP too much, a site like rottingangels is a step in the right direction, but even with a site like that, which really stands out from the boring imageboard standard-vichan crowd is still not guaranteed to be successful since many think like >>126229-san, which isn't wrong at all and makes sense as much as I want sites like world2ch, hikari3, rottingangels, etc. to grow, I just cant find the time, and i stick to Heyuri. the market really is too saturated, and things like CSAM being spammed only make things worse. I hope all goes well for you OP ( ´ω`)

Don't know why imageboards need to be a "market". A lot of boards have proper CSAM blockers now thanks to the fixes from sushichan (including wapchan, 39chan, rottingangels and others). Hikari3 doesn't because it runs on Lynxchan instead of vichan.

Kokonotsuba is super janky and the default config is heavily intertwined with heyuri links if I remember correctly. There's no real reason to use it when you can style vichan to look the same and perform much better.
