We talk about this without anyone initiating another, but I'll try another shot nyaoo-closedeyes

Currently there are 3 winning gaems with the same score
- King Arthur's Gold
- Mabinogi (private server)
- Terraria

From a quick search, I think King Arthur is a gaem that allows up to 12 people to coop and is suitable for one night. I dunno how hosting is, but it's a free gaem on Steam.
Mabinogi is an MMORPG, from that it can be said that, a server would need to be open at all tiems.
Terraria... could technically host many people, but even the large world doesn't have enough resources to sustain a large crowd (though there are ways around this issue if many users show up). We would also have to agree on stuff like not rushing bosses & going to hardmode before certain stuff are met etc. Someone would also still need to host it, and being a sandbox, it's not a game we can just play once and stop.

The standings may change if this thread encourages new users to vote, but doesn't change teh fact someone would need to undertake responsibility of being teh host. I'd help organizing non-technical parts sweat2

Mabinogi is a 3D MMORPG while others are 2D pixel games, so not too surprising sweat2

My PC a piece of kuso and also running Linux, so I'm limited to what I can participate in. I've been playing Project Zomboid without any problems though and even hosted a server (albeit with only one other anon in it). We made nigra characters. nigra

I'm down to try this King Arthur one though. Goldsource gaems could also work, I played Half-Life on a game night a while ago.

Did anyone ever play the Yume Nikki online games? unsure I remember they were suggested. They're in browser so everyone can join! waha

i could host, but last time i checked terraria server software was hardcoded to run on debian\ubuntu servers only so i have to setup debian chroot first

Oh, I don't know why I didn't think of this before but we could play... MOTHERFUCKING DOOM!! Even though this game is over 30 years old, it's still super addictive once you play it with a source port that makes it look better + allows a modern control layout.

How 2 Doom:

1. Download teh multiplayer source port

2. Pirate .wad files ph34r

3. Place .wad files in the correct foruda (to find the pathway open Zandronum, click Options>Configure>File Paths)

4. Check out singleplayer and adjust your settings, File>Create game then click Mode>Play offline, set game mode to cooperative and under 'Rules' add all the maps from your chosen .wad and then click 'Play'

5. Adjust your video, HUD, control settings etc. to your liking (if sprites are clipping through the floor go to Options>Display options>OpenGL options>Preferences>Adjust sprite clipping)

6. ?????????????????

Someone already posted a link to the zipped wads... but now I'm having tech issues. dark The game stutters, which is apparently an issue with Zandronum on Linux. GZDoom works fine, but I don't know how to play GZDoom multiplayer...

Hey, are we still having game night? I'm willing to play anything my PC can run.

After much fuckery I was sadly unable to make Zandronum run properly. But I can make a multiplayer game in Chocolate Doom! Unfortunately, this would mean everyone playing with me would also need to use Chocolate Doom, which has graphics that look just as crunchy as the original MSDOS version (although thankfully you can edit the controls).

However, given the penchant for nostalgia this board has, that might make it moar appealing to some of you.

I just forwarded a port so I'll be good to host Chocolate Doom if anyone wants to play that. Also, I can host Project Zomboid although I'm not sure that anyone is interested in that.
