2. Feel better (endorphins or some crap like that = euphoria) (HARD MODE)
It's like all the other shit that makes you feel happy.
Physical activity, media, eating, taking drugs and whatever else. It's just incredibly destructive in comparison.
I feel like that's why, 2 simple reasons. Just remember taking hardcore drugs is likely healthier (or very comparable to) than cutting yourself.

Endorphins and adrenaline I think. It all started when I was working in a warehouse while feeling really depressed. One day I accidentally cut my arm with a boxcutter and afterwards, I felt perky. I thought "wow, this must be why people cut themselves" and since I had been contemplating suicide for some time at that point anyway, I didn't really give a fuck anymore, so I would just go to the bathroom and slash my thighs and chest so I could feel better.

I also have BPD and sometimes I just lose the ability to control my emotions and have retard-esque tantrums because of that. Usually just smashing things, biting and hitting myself, but sometimes cutting myself also. emo

i dig my fingernails into my skin as hard as i can to the point where it leaves a mark for hours sometimes, or give myself a hard punch on the arm to give myself pain that lasts longer
i'm too pussy to really cut myself because the sight of blood running out would make me nauseous
i do it because the stimulation feels good when i'm in the right mental state for it, not for attention
when i want attention i usually just try to brag about the things i do or infodump to people thinking they wont care about what i say if i keep it short (which i'm doing right now)
