I'll start:
Good: /wsg/ - one of my favourite boards, good threads, alright conversation quality, in general i like the concept of a video sharing board.
Bad: /s4s/ - nowadays it's like a discord safe space chatroom, if you've been there you'd understand.

I stick to alt-chans and have done so for the past eight or so years. I checked out 4chan, specifically /his/, /jp/, /k/, and /x/ to see how it was, and I couldn't find a single good thread. 90% of all threads are low-effort baity one-liners. I know I should take it easy, but man, it pissed me off to see all this mindlessness.

4chan is a mental sinkhole, that's all it is. I sincerely don't understand how anyone uses that s(h)ite. depression

What is to be desired with another textboard?
With an original intent to share math problems, is it worth the liability?

Anonymous venues dot many memories, so surely another wouldn't hurt.
But it's hard to say where one ends up from all of that.

This thread comes from a deeper desire to "party up" and make something more.
Yet there's not much to explore with another textboard: the others already limp along as is.

As things stand, it's hard to believe in another textboard.

Even imageboards struggle to survive today, for textboards its even more difficult although there's a reduced chance of pizza delivery and soyjak spammers. OP should just use an existing one rather than creating something that will fizzle out. 4-ch and world2ch are still around, but desperately need more users.

It's a new website owned by a new person with none of the old users. There's no continuity with any previous iteration of world2ch besides the domain and a few assets taken from archives, so it's more accurate to say "there's a fan-made world2ch remake" than "world2ch is still around"

There's also no reason why it should "need more users" over anywhere else, especially seeing as it's never had any users in the first place (besides a handful of visitors from here and the s*yjak site the admin is associated with) (;^Д^)

This thread made me think that I would also like to make my own textboard!
I think it could be a fun project to give me something to do to learn PHP with, and if I'm lucky meet a ton of cool people with similar interests. I already have some fun features planned out as well

Hello I am >>6616 here to tell you that indeed I have been working on the textboard. I've got a skeleton of the design done, I'm working on various PHP and SQL scripts as well as the server setup. If I remain on track, I should be done in about six or seven weeks, granted that I don't get too busy with other things.

Interesting arguments in this thread, but I definitely agree with >>5319 that we are really more in danger of moving too hard in the opposite direction. And don't expect it to be very consistent either. I've heard people criticizing 18 or 19 year olds for going out with 15 year olds ( a common highschool occurence), then later saying that no-one above 25 should go out with 18 or 19 year olds, because despite being legal, they are 'still children'

I'm one of those scum that believes that there should be no rules to sex apart from the obvious three: no woman should be raped no older person should have sex with a prepubescent child, and no male should be sodomized.
